Home Stadium

For the first 50 years of their existence, England played their home games across the country. They initially used the cricket, before moving to later stages of calcium. The original was built Empire Stadium at Wembley in Brent, London, and was built in the British Empire Exhibition. England played their first game in 1924 against the stadium in Scotland and in the next 27 years at Wembley has been used only in place for the games in Scotland. Later became known simply Stadium Wembley Stadium and became the permanent home of the stadium in England in 1950. This stadium was demolished in 2001 and work began to rebuild completely. During this period England played in different places around the country. They returned to the new Wembley Stadium in 2007. The stadium is now owned by the Football Association, through its subsidiary, Olympic Stadium Limited.
