Andrey Arshavin And Park Chu-Young Wake Up Arsenal Against Bolton

The other side of the criticism that Arsene Wenger has shown faith in young people over the past few seasons is that some experienced players fell to the manager. Too often, as established international Andrey Arshavin and Tomas Rosicky have been unable to come to the aid of fellow Green. Here Arshavin produced a performance that enabled Arsenal to overcome a goal and the progress of the Carling Cup quarter-final.

They were the strong points during the night, when some of the vaunted Arsenal players showed youth who are still plenty of room for improvement, and Thomas Vermaelen, returns to action for the first time since August, held off late for a minor calf injury which excludes the match at Chelsea on Saturday.

Arsenal began with a goal, but limited accuracy. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was eager to build on its promising output against Shrewsbury Town and Olympiakos, and strengthen the claims that he began regularly ahead of Theo Walcott. Despite his enthusiasm, these calls decrease after exposure which exposed his inexperience.

His speed allowed him to find freedom in the right wing, but betrayed the gaps in what is often accused of Walcott, and through an error. Worse, in middle of the first half, hit by Darren Pratley left, which deflects the ball in midfield and sent the first shot of the game significantly, which beat Lukasz Fabianski out. Four minutes later, Tuncay Sanli dispossessed in the same way, and it was clear why Wenger wants to join the team gradually instead of Chamberlain before some fans of the application.

"What are the kids who are learning the game is to find is that you must be 100% focus and fight for every minute at this level," Wenger said, referring to, if you suspect that Oxlade-Chamberlain and Emmanuel Frimpong, he also caught dawdling at crucial moments.

Given the injury problems in the Arsenal right-back, 18 years Yennaris rookie Nico was under special surveillance, but not the Bolton Wanderers, who have largely neglected to test the novices. Vermaelen had a comfortable enough first Wanderers, who like Arsenal were not called to the regular entry, the team started with OFA conservatives who simply wanted to avoid an eighth defeat in nine games. Vermaelen has become the 36th minute when he received a short free kick from Arshavin. Adam Bogdan had to show strong hands to push the Belgian fierce 25-yard.

Bogdan was also provocative five minutes earlier, then beat away a long distance drive from Park Chu-Young. Korea went close just before the break after playing with Arshavin agile, Bogdan cancel its 20 yards wide. Yossi Benayoun managed to beat the goalkeeper moments before, but his fine effort after a tough race, down the left wing inches long.

At the beginning of the second half brought the stern teaching Frimpong, who was sacked by Fabrice Muamba, deep in their own half. This time, the greatest punishment applied Bolton as Muamba exchanged instant passport Pratley first banging the ball two feet to the network.

Bolton was about to add two minutes later but Ivan Klasnic after defeating Sebastien Squillaci to a cross Gaël Kakuta, lifted the ball over fence.

At this time Wenger demanding needs of players with experience to regain the initiative. Often, no. Here Arshavin inspired a spin. In the absence of Mikel Arteta, he reveled in the paper sticking out of Russia. In minute 53, showed a spirit and skill in the statement that the equalizer, low shot to the net from the corner of the box when in the less determined mood, it could happen.

Three minutes later, he helped put in front of Arsenal, meanwhile intelligently the best time to slide the ball through the Park, who scored his first goal since joining from Monaco in the summer with a wrinkled finish 10 yards.

Bolton responded well, and family concerns re-emerged as Arsenal Fabianski fumbled Kakuta punishment. The rebound fell kindly to him. He also slammed Chris Eagles shot and was lucky enough to see him go over the crossbar. Frimpong was lucky not to issue penalty after Gary Cahill hard challenge.

Fabianski showed his good side in the 77th minute to deny Klasnic a short distance after the striker had grazed Squillaci. Klasnic made their worst loss of the night two minutes from time, winning the ball over the bar when it is free to seven meters.

"We had to hang the last 20 minutes, because we had a lot of players who have not played with this intensity," said Wenger. "We have been tested and experienced players took care of the game, especially Arshavin, Park, and [Yossi] Benayoun. They have made a difference."
