The Football League
Although the oldest World Championship, the Football League is now second only to the hierarchy of English football after the resignation of the top clubs in England in 1992 to form the FA Premier League. Football League has 72 members equally divided into three divisions, now called the Championship, League One and League Two. Despite the split of the organization, promotion and drop clubs continue to occur between the Premier League and Football League.
